Principle and test method of wire rope tester

As an important safety device, it is very dangerous accident if elevator wire rope is cracked, so the daily inspection of elevator wire rope cannot be ignored. The wire rope inspection is mainly used magnetic detection.
1. Principle of wire rope detector
Elevator wire rope inspection is mainly used full magnetic detection. Use magnetizer along the wire rope in axial direction, the wire rope is in a complex magnetic field environment , including the magnetic field both wire rope itself and the flaws , as well as the geomagnetic field ,electromagnetic field, and etc. All flaws magnetic field we called as “signal”, the other various magnetic field we called as “noise”. Due to rope shake, speed and external magnetic field changes, the flaw signal is accompanied by a large amount of noise in inspection process.
The basic important requirement for wire rope tester sensitively and accurately identifies the signal of wire rope flaw to eliminate various noise resistant to various interferences, and analyzing the information and estimate wire rope flaw.
 
2. Method of wire rope detection 
  
1) LF testing
Inspect broken wire, corrosion, pitting of wire rope which caused local abrupt magnetic field.

2) LMA testing
Inspect flaw such as corrosion and abrasion which caused by the total metal cross-sectional area in the cross section of wire rope change.
  
3. Advantage of using wire rope tester
1) Rapid inspection of wire rope flaw, save inspection time. The wire rope tester is monitoring the wire rope condition, showing the quantitative numerical of internal and external broken wire, corrosion, abrasion and LMA change in real time.  
2)Nonstop detection, not affect production. Solve the problems of manual inspection which can not inspect the internal flaw and low efficiency.
3)Easy to take and operate, operator can use after simple training.
4) High detection accuracy, good repeat ability, accurate flaw location.
